& B Sales traces its history back to 1932 when James M.
Cartwright founded the original company in Memphis, Tennessee,
becoming one of the first electronics manufacturers' representatives
based in the mid south. At the time, he was sales manager for
Supreme Electronics in Greenwood, Mississippi, and was frustrated by
the fact that few of the electronic reps out of Dallas or Atlanta
ventured into Mississippi to call on Supreme. He decided to fill
this niche by going into the rep business covering Arkansas,
Louisiana, Mississippi, and West Tennessee.
Following
World War II, he brought his sons, James B. Cartwright and William
C. Cartwright, and his son-in-law, Everett Bean, into the business.
The business continued to grow, gradually expanding to provide sales
service to the entire southeastern US. In the late 1970's,
Cartwright & Bean formed the Systems group and expanded its
offerings to include some consumer electronic items including
handheld electronic games, personal computers, the Brinkman Q-Beam,
and a number of other well-known products. The beginning of the 80's
ushered in a transition into CCTV and security products as well as
providing representation and regional distribution for Motorola's
line of popular commercial and industrial two-way radio systems.
Specialized products for military and law enforcement were added in
1999. In late 2000, the Cartwright & Bean Systems group was spun
off into the newly formed C & B Sales Associates, LLP. This
reinvention has allowed both organizations to focus on their
respective core businesses and gives inside support personnel the
ability to enhance their knowledge of a much smaller and more
synergistic group of products.
The new
company is employee owned and includes 4th generation Cartwright
& Bean personnel. Headquartered in suburban Atlanta, Georgia, C
& B Sales Associates provides sales coverage throughout the
Southeast. Our operation is fully computerized. Our sales engineers
are all provided with notebook computers and use Microsoft Outlook
for email, and sales opportunity tracking and reporting. In addition
to notebook computers, our field sales engineers are equipped with
cell phones.

development, service and value while providing growth opportunities
for our sales and support people. We strive to be recognized as a
world-class rep organization by our principals and customers. Hard

Synergistic Selling-
We believe in maintaining strong synergism among the manufacturers
that we represent. Our target market is the Electronic Security
Industry and we will only represent manufacturers whose products are
sold into that market. This allows us to more deeply penetrate our
account base on behalf of our manufacturing partners.
Multiple Tier Accounts-
We do not limit ourselves to one account type within our sales
territory. Our active
account base includes Distributors, Systems Integrators, End Users,
and Architect/Engineering firms.
Our philosophy allows us to assist and utilize our
specification writing skills, training and equipment demonstrations
and to practice “pull through” selling
with our distributor partners.
Integrity and Honesty-
This is a benchmark that we hold above all others.
All that we do to represent our own firm and our principal
partners will be done in a manner that will always be honest, above
board and will never tarnish our respective images within the
marketplace.
Relational Selling-
We believe that” people buy from people” and those strong relationships are crucial

Education- Our team continues to take advantage of every
opportunity to improve our product and technology knowledge.
